Glad to be part of the group. I have a lake behind the apartment building that I live in, It's full of large mouth bass, catfish, bluegill, and turtles. [inline Lakeview.jpg]

Welcome to the site Scott, that is a huge apartment building, pretty cool it has a pond behind it and they let you fish in it.

There are many apartment buildings surrounding the lake but I think it is owned by Lakewoods apartments the building I live in and in the picture. No license required you just have to be a tenant to fish in the lake. If you are not a tenant you have to get a permit to fish from Lakewoods management. Only thing I've caught out of the lake is Bluegill, 7" Large Mouth Bass, and an 8lb Flathead and a 30lb Flathead.

Wow, those are some impressive sized Flatheads, what did you catch them on?

I caught the 8lb cat when we first moved in on chicken tender that wasn't very tender. I caught the 30lb cat two weeks ago using guy bluegill. Funny thing was I was fishing slide float just cast out and no sooner it hit the water to took off. I was using a Shakespeare Ugly Stick rod/reel combo with 10lb mono. I had to let the cat do what it wanted to until it got tired to get it in.

I bet you did, a cat that big on light tackle gave you a good fight I bet, did you get any pics of it?

I didn't have a camera with me but it didn't matter anyway because I was trying to carry it up a very steep rocky bank lost my footing and fell backwards into the lake. I injured my left knee and haven't been able to get out fishing since. I'm hoping to get back out in the next few days.

Well that's too bad but I think we have all forgotten our camera before and missed a shot at a big fish like that before. Hope you recover soon from your knee injury and can get back out there again.
