Watts bar was good to us this weekend. I headed to the lake after work on Thursday. With dad coming up that night with the boat i beat the banks around our dock. Caught several fish using a small hair jig with a super chunk jr trailer. Then Friday we found fish on main lake points with rock or brush in about 12-20 FOW. Caught them using a fb jig and deep crankbait. Also found some fish that evening around steep gravel banks caught fish on shaky heads and square bill crankbaits. We went fishing that night to try and get me a brown fish. With no success there, did catch several good largemouth on spinnerbaits and hair jigs around rock walls and main lake structure. Saturday was filled with more main lake points and humps with structure with jigs and crankbaits. Saturday night ran some new water and found a bunch of fish and same with spinnerbaits and hair jigs. Caught lots of fish but the brown fish still eludes me. All in all not a bad Fourth of July on the bar. Biggest fish went just over 5 lbs but a bunch of them were in the 3 lb range.
