Well, all of the blue catfish must have put on their green outfits and gone to hang out with the bass to celebrate St Patricks day, 'cause they sure weren't in their usual haunts this morning.

I was concerned since Chickamauga started spilling again and the flows were about double the amount of when the gates are closed. The fishery disappears at my favorite spot at flows of 70,000+ cfs. I did not have ONE SINGLE bite today, and I tried all of my favorite drift lines. It was windy, but nice and warm, so there was no suffering - except the skunk in the boat. I waited until today to go fishing, knowing that EVERYBODY would be out on Saturday and wanting to avoid the parking wars. Huh! I arrived at Skull Island at sunrise today and snagged the last possible parking spot. The next guy to pull in simply drove right back out and must have gone to Harrison Bay to launch. I guess spring has just about sprung and the fishermen have started to thaw out from the winter freeze.

I see the flow will get back to "reasonable" according to the forecast, so I'll hit the water again a bit later in the week and see if the cats reappear. Where in the world do they go when they just disappear like this? There were no fish on the sonar there either. A mystery!!!!
