Help me identify this fish please.

Yesterday i was fishing on a channel that lead into lake michigan when i caught this fish. I checked multiple fish identification websites and the closest fish i could fine was a shiner, but it still doesnt look the same. I have an attachment with a picture of the fish i caught. By the way i caught it using worms and it was about 6 inches long.
