Hit dc sunday late start and alittle windy. fished the arm next to the main marina. did very well with f7 frog flatfish. big healthy fish just about jerked the pole right out of your hand. thanks to everyone that shared there advice. greatly appreciated. we were about 20 feet under the surface with a spinning reel.
good luck and be careful!

sorry youngfish i dont have a picture of the flatfish but it is the old style from the 1970s. they still make the same color green with different shades of yellow on the top with a light green belly. also it has the double treble hooks. I dont think they make those hooks anymore. one thing i do different and it really works i tie the rapala knot and it gives it a great action.
sorry it took so long to get back. good luck.

You can still get the flatfish with the two treble hooks, not the old Henndon or Helin or whatever it was I used back in "the old days." These are made by Yakima and you can find them at Sportsman's, they're plastic (I think), not wood and the paint is slightly different but they are real close to the originals. The Wordens only come with a single treble and are also available at Sportsman's.
By the way, I did real well with the F-5 Frog at Rockport a couple of weeks ago.

They were made by that company you mentioned helin. I think there was a concern about using two treble hooks and the guy at anglers inn said they were going to switch over to the single hook that you mentioned. i troll very slow and the hits are fun. I have caught a couple of nice browns also at jordanelle trolling along the sides of the lake next to the rock cliff area with a downrigger on the bottom.

I'm a traditional steel liner but I don't see why they wouldn't work with downriggers...Let me know how it goes!
