Fishing with a big BANG !!! pix
#1
So I went fishing today at Castaic Lagoon.
Started at 6.00 AM. Super nice morning, no wind, water
temp 68F air temp about 60F.
Water was super clear. I was able to see about 15 feet
deep, just like fishing in a fish tank.
Caught a very nice LMB on 3WT ( I was hoping for a blue
gill.
Took a lunch break at the shore. Enjoying my sandwich
and BANG !!!!! Oh &%$# what was that !!!!!! It was
very loud like a gun shot. Look at my toon....looks
ok. Walk around it -ok.
Well looks good - moving on.
Finished fishing, putting the toon transport wheel back
on that was siting on the rear deck of the toon and
there it is- tire blown up. Ahhhh thats what that noise
was.........
I guess the wheel overheated on the sun and popped.
I always let the air out of the toons a little when the
sun comes up but the wheel ???
Oh well, need a new inner tube now.

Pretty crazy never heard of a innertube exploding like that. I hope to hit castaic one of these days, I live in Orange and have been fishing the salt mostly and need to try a new fresh water honey hole[reply][/reply]

Knock on wood, but I have never adjusted my air. I do pump up in the mornings on over nighters if needed, but I don't think I have ever let some air out while at a lake. I will let air out to got to a higher elevation.

Really, I always let some air out if it is going to be sitting out of the water for awhile. Maybe it is more for me than the boat, so that I don't wonder about it while I am getting a nap!
