Well got my tube about 3 months ago and just now got to try it out. Takes a bit of learning but had a great day. Thought I was going to end up empty handed but caught a 4 lb. Blue cat that made my day. I have enjoyed reading the post about which fins to use. I bought a pair from Wal-Mart and they do fair but really hurt my feet. So looking at getting another pair so I can use the pool or swim shoes with it. As this is my first time in a tube except many many yrs. ago in one of the donut shaped tubes, I know that I have a lot to learn but if yesterday is a example of the fun.......Well I am hooked for sure. I love to fish and doesn't much matter what I catch but my most fun is catching the bigger catfish. Was worried what would happen with a big one but see where the tube acts as a drag also. And the ride is the fun part. Although this was a small cat it did give me a sample of what it will be like to hook into a big one. Hope to meet a lot of new friends and to learn a lot. Thanks for having me here.

[cool][#0000ff]Welcome aboard. Fishing cats from a tube has been a personal longtime passion. I have hooked lotsa bigguns that have towed me around...even leaving a wake behind me. That scares folks in boats as they are cruising by.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Fins are a big part of both comfort and propulsion. It is not an area you should sacrifice efficiency and comfort for a few bucks. Always be sure that the fins you get are large enough to hold all the layers you are going to stuff inside them...without constriction. If your feet are constricted it doesn't matter how good your wool socks are. Your feet will cramp and get cold.[/#0000ff]

Thanks for the welcome a boards. I have been doing a lot of searching on here and reading and can only say WOW! Kinda wish I had gotten here before getting my tube but one thing for certain is after being out in my tube I do understand some of the post and suggestions better than I would have with out prior knowledge. Already have decided on getting another tube and I am making plans for it. I have decided to go with the ODC 420. The first thing that caught my eye about the tube was the maneuverability issue. Which is a bit trying in the tube I have now. The next is after looking on the net and finding everything I could is how much better the seating is in the ODC 420. I don't have a problem being wet in fact in the summer that part feels good but I have a bad back and the tube I now have doesn't help my back out like I thought it would. But I am not complaining cause I will still use it till I get my ODC one but do see the need for the change.
Before winter gets here I am sure that I want to learn more about how to prepare and dress in winter so that I can tube during that time as well. My Son is trying to talk me into a Kayak but I really like being in the tube and if I can fish comfortably in the winter too. then I see no need for a boat of any kind. Right now my first concern is getting a good pair of Flippers that I can use with the sock waders and swimming shoes. The ones I got are a hard rubber or plastic type material and they really are very uncomfortable on my feet and if I want to go any distance they put blisters across my toes from rubbing. So this will be a must do item I need to get now. So any suggestions I am open to.
Thanks again for the welcome and I know when I start getting ready to trick out my tube I will have more question and maybe some input of ideas. Bent Poles to all. Pop
