LA GRANDE, OR—Oregon's Lower Powder River Irrigation District recently drained the state's Thief Valley Reservoir, leaving thousands of legal and trophy-size rainbow trout trapped in isolated pools.
To help anglers harvest and use these fish, most of which would otherwise die of stress and high water temperatures. The DFG temporarily dropped daily bag and possession limits for the reservoir, and allowed harvest by hand and dip net. Normal regulations go back into effect October 1.

Glad I could pass on the word. Makes me wish I lived in that part of the country. But alas, I'm in the upper midwest. [:/]

I am glad to see somebody still has a scruple left in the noodle rack.
this is great news. not that the trout are suffering, but that someone had the sence to make sure the trout are not going to go to waist.
hope anglers hook up on this deal, for them selves and the fishes sake.
