You can try a pulley system in your garage or sacrifice some floor space. When I had mine, it had to be disassembled.

[cool][#0000ff]A lot depends upon the size and dimensions of your garage. If you have an extra foot or so of space on either side or the front, you can stack the toon up on the nose or rear...or lay it on it's side. It does not have to be laid flat.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]Another option...if you have enough clearance above your vehicles...is to rig a couple of pulleys to the beams and make a rope hoist to raise the toon up above the vehicles when not in use. If you have a truck you can pull it up out of the truck when you return from a trip and then lower it down just before you hit the road on the next trip.[/#0000ff] [signature]

Glad to see you found your way up to the Float tubing board. Look forward to hearing how it works out for you when the ice melts.

I agree pulley is the most logical. But we went with that. A little on the pricy side to get the right stuff.

We went that way, but to keep the price in check, we went with one pulley in the front and one in the back with a a rope connected to each side of the boat on the Front and same on the rear. So, two ropes. One person can manage it but it is tuff. The boats are not that easy to pull up. I am betting you are close to 70 lbs. If you have the room, I agree with the Dude on stand it up or lay it on the side. I feel your pain though. I like the read at a moments notice. I drive a Grand Vitara which is on the short side. I can deflate it and disassemble the frame, borrow the old mans truck in which I would still have to deflate some, not to mention, trying to get it in the back of a truck with a shell. We finally got the flat bed trailer in which I leave my boat on in the garage in the summer. Then I just hook it on the Zuke and go. Easy to get it on and off by myself. [signature]

Thanks everyone! I really like the pully idea...I'm going to have to give it some thought on how to do it and maybe give it a try. Thanks again

Mine comes apart really easy, but when I don't want it apart I pretty much just set it on the floor of the garage. Since I don't park in it in the summer any way. Gotta have space to make all my modifications.[

I have four short ropes tied permanently to the rafters in my garage, with a Ibolt in the center. I simply run the winch cable from my four wheeler through the Ibolt, to the toon on the ground, winch it up then loop the permanent ropes over the four corners of the frame. I realize not everyone has a four wheeler with a winch, but alot of folks do and it works well for me.

These unique pulleys make it much easier for one man to hoist: http://www.roperatchet.com/ They lock/release by controlling the angle of the rope, and can be leveraged with other pulleys for really heavy boats, if necessary. Lowes carries them, but you can get better prices on the internet.

We use pulleys on the rafters near a sidewall. That way the toons hang by one end against the wall.

You might also consider using a small block and tackle hoist. [signature] |
