I had couple of hours of free time today so I went
to the lake close to my house. The only problem
is that no float tubes allowed[mad] or outside boats.
Great bass fishing. As I was shore tangling I just
kept looking at all that great stracture that I was not
able to get to. Plus all the trash and beer cans
everywhere.
It just made me mad and so I went back home
with no fish =(
I really dont want to fish without my float tube anymore,
it just sucks without it.

[cool] [#0000ff]Unfortunately there are too many places like that.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]But, look at it from a positive viewpoint. First, there are many people who do not have the option you have...float tubing on waters where it is legal. Second, you DO have that option and should be properly grateful whenever and wherever you can launch your tube and get away from the garbage on the bank...and can enjoy the quality of fishing provided by your float tube.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I sometimes have to laugh at myself when driving by a lake. I am looking for places to launch my tube instead of just enjoying the scenery.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]And, when TubeBabe and I watch TV and see scenes of crashing waves or rapids we are likely to say "That's not float tube water."[/#0000ff]

If you see signs that have wording such as no float tubes allowed, check with the people in charge.
We have a local lake that is posted like that and I questioned it. They said it is posted to keep the flimsy plastic float toy boats and donuts off the lake for safety.
He said that the "professional" (his wording lol ) inflatables are welcome. Illinoisgiller

Because of the spred of zebra mussels . They are trying
to keep those out. Many nice reservoirs aroud here are
like that and many more are going to be, .

Yes, you are right TD. I should be happy that I do have
some tubing options. Thank you for making me feel
a little better about it.
Also I know what you talking about with the driving
by a lake . Now me too look at things from a different
angle. Can I float that ? Can I launch there? Or over
there? Maybe there................[ ]

Yes, I know what you saying. But this is because of
spred of zebra mussels and such. I asked them and I got
NO WAY IN HELL, NEVER. So that was that.[:/]

Yea, leave it to my hero TD for the positive take!
We have some lakes in the south that are prime for 'tubes and 'toons because all gas motors are banned. No noise, exhaust fumes, wakes, and the DUIs can only bump your tube when out of control, at most.[ ] Sometimes the shore fishing is limited to the very small launch area due to being surrounded by private property. Also, some rivers are like that, where shore fishing is limited to tiny areas of public access around bridges. Sometimes paying for private access is the only option on public water because the next distant public access point is too far away.
I know what you mean about FT on the brain, TD. Don't leave home without one, may just run into some unexplored water....

I can't speak for LA. Just where I live. IDAHO, MONTANA, WYOMING and UTAH. Some of the Biggest trout on a fly and all catchable from shores.
Don't get me wrong, I have had tubes/toons for over 30 years.
Great! But sometimes, I would just rather walk and fish.
Plus you got to admit, with all the gear and the need for a wheel...that the TUBE is going to be limited as well.
Like the Uintas. There are many more places to fish WITHOUT a tube/toon...and all our rivers/creeks/streams.
Check out the Utah board and see the size of the fish coming out of the "UN-FLOATED" Weber river.
Life hands you lemons....make lemonade, that's all.

YES! La Brea Tarpits! Too funny. Have to admit though, that polluted pond has me wanting to walk a hollow frog across the top of it.
Personally, I love fishing from shore when location allows.
