Hey DR,

Do you think the radar would be over kill for my center console? You've seen my boat, and I normally don't ride out too far, but every now and then I might sneak on out. What do you think?

It is a matter of choice. It is a great unit to have when the fog moves in or you can see a rain storm coming. It has saved my but many times while offshore. Over kill,you can never have too much prevention. If you want to try it or get it ,let me know. Thanks for asking.
