A week of 40 degree temps left that slush ice under 10" of water , today however in jus a matter of hours it formed a cap and the noise has started .
I don't expect to be out on the ice for a few more days , i'm giving it a chance to firm up a bit so I won't take a mid-winter swim .
Most of the area lakes have had eyes hitting formost , crappie second , gills are running third and pike fishing
