I fished Bear Lake this morning from morning from 7:30am to 9:30am. I caught 7 lakers but I could have caught more than that. Why? Because after the first 4 fish I began experimenting with new lures and changed lures after each fish. Some lures worked and some didn't. Flatfish ruled! U-20 or smaller in silver or white were the best. I was trolling with lead core line in about 15-20' of water along the east side. All fish that I caught were smaller sized males and the largest fish was only about 4lbs. In my opinion the run has just begun and the fishing should continue to improve, although I think I did pretty good for just 2 hours of fishing. I would expect some larger fish in the next week or two once the females move in.
