From what I just found out, this site will remain open until the new site is ready, unless we get another major bot attack. The site address will remain the same, so when the new site is ready, it will be switch over, with no interruption in service.

As curiosity always steps up, how much of the new site will be brought in? Will it be just Utah?

From earlier posts, I believe it will be just Utah. The real issue will be retention of users and passwords, IMO. From my experience with other boards that migrated servers and software, that can be very tricky.
We all had to create new identities when this board changed the last time, if you remember. That's how I came to be rockyraab2.

That was what I was told, just the Utah board, guess we will see.

I too was concerned about usernames and passwords, I'll try and find out about that info today. What you said about user ID's and having to create new ones is not true at all. Many of us got our old usernames back but you had to contact the site and ask for a new password and as many of you know, a lot of us lost the ability to get notices when the site switched over to the new server. Instead of requesting a new password many members sent emails to the site and got a better response but in case that happens again, a better way would be to contact it at this email address: Bigfishtackle@yahoo.com
I doubt it matters to you now Rocky but I can get your old username back for you now, if you want it.

I did have to go into my spam folder on MSN and move it to my inbox but once I did, my notices always go to my inbox now but even then, I will sometimes find notices in my spam folder. This is the notice I always receive on my notices, "We can't verify that this email came from the sender, so it might not be safe to respond to it". I just got an update, the new system will send out notices to all members that are active, informing them that they can follow a link to set up a new password, when the new site comes on-line. When that happens and the new site will not have a problem with the email notices that the old site had issues with, so you should get the email notice. Still no word when tihs will happen, so I guess we will take a wait a see attitude.

IIRC, I couldn't get to them for a new password last time. At least that's how it seems now.
 Here's hoping.

Active members refer to those members that came back to BFT after the site was rebuilt in 2020. If you look at the list of members above 90% never returned but most of those were never on the site anyway, they just signed up to view the info.

I know we are getting the bot attacks again and as soon as it started last week, I ask for an update, they are still saying two more weeks. So far, I'm still able to get on the site, just not all the time.

Hopefully, they are aggressively programming, in the meantime, unless they have another "Plan B" up their sleeves.
