Broke out the tube today for a quick trip to see if I can still kick around at my old age. Also brought the fly rod along to see if I remember how to cast and retrieve a bugger. Fish from 8:30 till 10:30 landed one tiger, 3 rainbows and one cutthroat with a couple of long distance releases. Slow trolling and quick retrieve both worked. Forgot how much I love the strike on a quick retrieve. Not much size only 12 to 13in but felt good to get back into the swing of things.

Thanks for the report with no chubs.
This time of year can be a lot of fun up there in the shallow water stripping buggers and leeches.
Were the midges out in force yet?  Any damsel flies?

That's pretty shocking. I was at Strawberry yesterday and it seemed like the chironomids are backing off just a bit, giving way to the bugs of summer... Callibaetis, damselflies, and they were all over my Carey Special (which imitates dragonfly nymphs).
