Went to porcupine on Saturday morning at 6 am. The water was stained but not muddy. I marked lots of schools of fish but did not hook up one time. I think the water must have been to cold or something. I trolled green squids orange and pink my favorite color there. Also I noticed the schools were very deep, some in 60 feet. I am hoping it’s a good year there because of the amount of fish on the scanner but no salmon on the dinner plate yet.

I second your report I went there Saturday afternoon and had the same experience as you I marked fish as deep as 100 ft. With most around 60ft. I also marked a giant cloud of what I assume was zoo plankton.

Porky can be a fickle beast. Havent tried yet for kokes this year up there. Very frustrating when yo mark huge schools of fish and none want to play. On a "normal" year they are about 20-35' right now. It still might be a bit cold, but I am just guessing. Mid June it should pick up. Also, be sure to try small spoons. Some years its a spoon bite and some years its a squid bite.
