[#0000FF]Back on March 28 there was a limited seating seminar on Utah Lake...presented by DWR, Blue Ribbon Council and the Utah Lake Commission. Some good stuff on the various access points around the lake and some of the new and proposed developments.[/#0000FF]

Thanks for posting this! I haven't made it to your part yet, I'm saving the best for last.

I was curious about Sam Braegger's slide that says there is a new wind meter at AF Harbor and UDOT has one at MP17. I didn't find a way to access the data from AF Harbor, do you know of a link?

Also, MP17 sounds like "Mile Post 17" is that on the the freeway?

Thanks for posting that info Pat, I started to watch it when it first came out and got busy so I didn't get to see your part yet either, appreciate the reminder...

So are you going out this week to chase the fish? Looking at the weather I think I see a Pat day on the pond later this week... I burned a day of vacation last Friday, so I guess I better stay at work, but maybe Friday I'll try again... I really had fun in the toon last week, best trip in a long time for the toon.. I do need to tune my side planer so it pulls closer to a 90 degree angle instead of 45, but I think that will really help my shallow water fishing so I get out away from the prop wash... It was fishing well last week, even though it wasn't working quite like I'd like it to... Anyway got something to work on... Later J

[#0000FF]Just got back from Arizona and have a busy schedule for a few days. Hope you enjoy the nicer weather I brought back. Got to be 90 degrees down there. No fishing though. Whimper, whimper.[/#0000FF]

Great stuff Pat! I also saw some familiar faces among your slides. Very well presented and lots of really good UL catfish info. Thanks for posting.

[#0000FF]Thankee sir. Yeah, I just hadda include some pics of your lovely face in there. But there weren't too many screams of horror from the audience when they came up. Must be that they were more focused on the fish porn than on the people holding the fish.[/#0000FF]

Pat,

Thanks for the email! I've got some resources for the question you mentioned from the BFT forum.

The National Weather Service has a link for our station at American Fork Marina here: https://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mesowest/timeseries.php?sid=AMFKM

That link really provides the hard data. If you're looking for something a little more useful, in our opinion the smartphone app "Windy" is very useful and user-friendly:

https://www.windy.com/station/madis-AMFKM?40.323,-111.781,13

Hopefully that helps! You can access the UDOT weather station from MP17, as well as any other station linked to the NWS through websites/apps such as Windy.

I just looked at the Am Fork Marina link. It isn't as easy as some to read, but even I could handle it. The good news is that it is updated almost real time. It looks like updates are done at 5 minute intervals and the last one was less than tem minutes before I looked. I think it is valuable[ ]

Well now, I'm not sure what is left. MP could be Mile Post like someone else said, but the freeway exit off of I15 at Springville is exit # 260, so I don't think there would be a mile post 17 within 243 miles of there. I could be a mile post on one of the back roads between I15 and LB, but I wouldn't know that now would I?

I just spoke to Sam Braegger and he told me that it stands for Mile Marker 17 on Redwood Road near Saratoga Springs at the north end of the lake. He said they have four monitoring points surrounding the lake and would be happy to share how to access those. I asked him to email the info to you, TD, because you should be able to get it on here better than I can[ ].
