I'm having some trouble with my printer, so I was wondering if it is acceptable to make a placard by hand. I could put a Big Fish sticker on and hand print the other info. This could also save the day if someone forgets their placard one day. Would that be okay?

Yes. That would be fine. Banners can be hand written as long as they include at a minimum "2018/2019 BFT and your BFT username"
