Ok...I been reading this, talked it over with the "Other Half", and she said it would be a good thing to do. I agreed instantly, beings it was a trip to take a vet fishing! She works at Home Depot and I'll ask her if her store (or others too) would be willing to donate. Oh...she won't let me go alone, and she does look good in a bikini ![[Image: bobwink.gif]](http://www.bigfishtackle.com/images/gforum/bobwink.gif) (see photo gallery on profile for boat and bikini)
I only have room for one or two (safely, fishing) in my 19 ft 1970's open bow tri-hull w/135 hp outboard...otherwise known as "The Shower With a Motor" and it's lesser name..." THE Fish Mobile" It's NOT much to look at but it's safe, it still floats, and darn, it gets me to where the fish ARE!! It does have a top in case of rain...but not much else, like a toilet (except for the 5 gal bucket)[ ] There is a "built in" cooler on board for sandwiches and drinks and an EXCELLENT fish locator with GPS. I WISH I had a pontoon boat...I'm gunna have to "ask" her!!?
I have trolled Strawberry ALOT and caught fish there with EXCELLENT consistancy...anyone who can spell consistancy can't be ALL BAD at fishing! I have two/three? leaded line trolling poles for those that want to keep moving instead of jigging...but I know how to do THAT too. I almost hate to admit it, but I use pop gear and worm [blush] when trolling for slimers, and sometimes I'll use spoons, "plugs", jigs, or flies on leaded or mono...depending on depth. I can "mix" it up for 1 or 2 people.
COUNT ME IN...I getta go fishing with a VET or two!!![cool][fishin] WAHOOOOO!!! Can't WAIT!!! Oh..by the way...I'm not a "true" member of BFT as in a dues paying member or whatever, just a fishing junkie that gets his "fix" off of others' stories when I can't go, from the BFT website. ![[Image: scaredworried.gif]](http://www.bigfishtackle.com/images/gforum/scaredworried.gif) I'm not sure how to do this so PM me and I'll give ya my phone # etc....

Hey Bob, my next door neighbor's dad has an 18 foot pontoon boat and he has agreed help us with the DAV event. So far I have not been able to get him to sign up on BFT so he can tell you himself but I gave him a link to this thread. Here is what he had to say,
[#4040ff]" will volunteer with my pontoon boat. Please remember that the boat is 18.5 feet and as we discussed every boat has specific weight limitations/persons allowed to be on board.
Have you contacted Mr. Terry Schow for this event and use his expertise, experience as he is the Utah Executive Director for the Utah Department of Veterans Affairs. He and his staff are experts for DAV events and requirements. His contact info is 550 Foothills drive #202 Salt Lake City, 84158-0897 email tschow@utah.gov phone, office 801-326-2372"[/#4040ff]
Have we been in contact with Mr. Schow yet?
If you want I can give you his phone number so you can talk to him directly about the limit or weight restrictions of his pontoon.

OPEN NOTE TO ALL BOAT PROVIDERS
My name is Ed and I will be playing team leader for the boat launching/ valet parking operation.
First off, Thanks. You are providing a good day for a bunch of guys to whom we owe much.
Secondly, I need to get a handle on what y'all need in the way of help launching on the day of the event so I can line up enough help so hopefully you don't have to wait getting you boat on and off.
I anticipate standard service to be: back your boat in and launch you, park and lock your rig, go get your rig when you're done and help you trailer your boat.
I know some of you will be bringing a crew member and won't be needing help. I anticipate there might be some who need additional help. I am willing to do whatever reasonable help you might need. And no, I will not wax your trailer or grease your wheel bearings.
Could you please take a minute and drop me a note and let me know your needs. My e-mail addy is [url "mailto:fishned69@aol.com"]fishned69@aol.com[/url]. Please let me know even if you don't need anything so I don't over do the crew size.
Thanks, and I look forward to meeting y'all, Ed

I will need a deck hand to help me on my boat if any one is interested. I will most likely be using down riggers and could use some one to run the kicker while I help set up my fisherman, drop me a PM if anyone is interested. You will have to find your own way down to the Lake as I will allready be there a couple days ahead setting up camp and treestands for the archery hunt the following weekend. I'm really looking fwd to this event, and glad that Bass Rods got this going, thanks Cliff.

Hey Cesar, we talked about that very thing at the meeting and we were hoping that we might be able to get some radios as part of the donations we are going to ask for. If that does not work out we will ask everyone to bring whatever they have and hopefully we will be able to get some communication between the different boats. Anyone know if cell phones work up there?

How many DAVs are we expecting? I've been silent so far on this as the verdict is still out on my boat (so far $1200 in repairs). I'll know more on if it will be available after this weekend hopefully.
