Thanks for the very thoughtful post Steelie30. The only thing I can add is it's tough to have both a family fishery and a trophy fishery. When the lake is pumping out trophies, the catch rate per boat is probably 2 or 3 fish a day. That's just not enough action to draw the numbers the f&g seem to want to buy out of state licenses. With the lake managed as it is and the top guys trolling up 30 fish days, the expectations for a number of larger fish to target drops markedly.
