Woodland Resort/ Perch Patrol Fishing Report

Plows were able to get out on the lake and bust the trails back open. Right now, we have over 25 miles of open trails on the Lake. We have a trail going through Creel Bay from Woodland Resort to the Spirit Lake Casino with a trail branching off and going towards Bird Island. We also have a branch that goes from Rocky Point to the Towers area. East Bay has trails that run from Acorn Ridge to the Stromme Addition and a trail out from Hay Bale Bay. Black Tiger Bay has a Trail as well. Anglers are just starting to get out fishing again. There are a few reports of anglers picking up perch around the Towers Area, Rocky Point and the Dome House. Anglers are finding perch in anywhere from 32 to 36 feet of water. Anglers are using flourescent or glow in the dark Halis, Forage Minnows, Genz Worms and Hanger Rigs tipped with spikes, wax worms and minnow heads. A few walleyes have been coming off Rocky Point in deep water during the day and up on top of the bar towards evening. Anglers are using Buck Shot Rattle Spoons, Jigging Raps and Swedish Pimples tipped with a minnow head. Pike fishing remains good up at Churches Ferry and anglers are using smelt or herring below tip ups. Good Luck Fishing.
