I hit Strawberry Saturday too. I launched at the main marina at 7:30 am and headed to the Bryant's Fork area to through some jerk baits. After about 45 minutes with no love from the local residents I started trolling dodgers on my spinning gear. I went east toward Haw's Point and on the way I encountered massive clumps of green algae. Some of it was solid on top of the water. Once I got through that I caught one nice 18" Cutt and another one that was about 14'".
When I neared Haw's Point I started catching nice fish. I trolled east and west past the point and got lots of love from some BIG Cutts. The wind came up as usual around 11am and when it did the fishing got better. I left about 2:30pm and I had landed 19 total fish. All Cutts. I missed probably half a dozen strikes. I was amazed at how big the fish were. Over half of them were in the 19" to 22" range and really fat. I haven't landed that many big fish in quite a while.
It was a great day. Good weather. Water temp at 53 degrees.
