I agree with all of the advice.
I've experienced one more mode of line twist in casting and retrieving lures (much less likely trolling). Some lures occasionally hook themselves or the line when cast. I like lures that have some kind of action that I can feel through the rod upon retrieve to know to abandon the cast and just reel it in without putting time into giving it techniques and fishing it. When it hooks the line ahead of it, some lures really spin a lot upon the retrieve.
