I remember a draw down like this back when we had our house in Pinehaven. We had a deadfall in front of the house and had to go out with a pitchfork each day to remove the dead fish that perished due to the lack of oxygen in the river. The banks of the railroad ranch stunk with the smell of dead rotting trout. Even the suckers couldn't survive the warm slow cesspool they created. The same thing happened during the dam construction period. It wiped out a wonderful fishery and all of the bank sippers that made this fishery famous with the likes of Joe Brooks and Lee and Joan Wulff died, never to really return as they were. No excuse for this kind of travesty..
