Ah yes the conspiracy theories about the lake being poisoned, and fishing being in the dumps just seem to circle back around.
The cost of killing off a lake is prohibitive. It's not done willy-nilly by the DNR, despite the rumor mongering.
A couple years ago there were a LOT of large bull bluegill floating belly up, and dying off - seemed to have fungus on them. Turned out it was the result of temperature shocks, nothing to do with a sinister plan to poison.
That being said - the rumors and stories about an underwater ski-course on that lake are very true and real!
