One of the worst things you can do is tie a trash bag to a tree. Last evening of the season below the motel at confluence we picked up eight such bags and incidental trash people had left on the hole. It was a big load and took several trips. Don't know what would have happened without recognizing it would have been a disaster and likely led to a shutdown of the area. Almost no one takes the trash bags up when they quit fishing each evening. Definitely a pet peeve of mine as I see it every year. Another bad idea is to leave trash cans in areas close to boat landings. They invariably fill up and people keep pilling up the trash nearby which blows all around. Area would be totally clean with no trash can, put it in your vehicle.
