What is lost in this discussion is the fact that Chesterfield really isn't a viable fishery. It hasn't been for 2 or 3 years. Too many consecutive drought/low water years, de-graded water quality, too much harvest, etc. has left Chesterfield a mediocre catch and kill fishery. With a few consecutive good water years it may return to its former glory, but I doubt it. I fear Chesterfield's best days are in the past.
