In Guyana we were fishing some rapids for Peacock bass and my buddy brought his telescopic rod, he swore by it until he hooked into a good fish. Every section of the pole broke! lol
I prefer the ones from Penfishingrods.com with the RTF combo or FD-100 reel.They have couple rear drag reels as well. I currently hold the record with the penfishingrod.com 23 lb carp. The poles are actually for small fish tho,it's micro light rated. So if your fishing for pan fish its good and light enough you can fish with all day.
They just came out with a new pole called the Backpacker® also telescopic and a bit heavier action pic below
