Hey Catman, There is a product that you can get at Home Depot or most other DYI places. it is called "GOOP" It will bond almost anything to almost anything else. I have used it especially on open cell foam with excellent results. It will also work on polyethelyne, polyolephyn and other hard to glue items.

I have even used it to reattach rod tips. Give it a try. I swear by it. $$%^)^^^%^#&**$#$(*)&%#% see what I mean.
