Thanks Kent, do you know how deep it is off the main rock pile this year? Been several years since I fished that area and it seems like it was fairly deep other times I ice fished it (like around 60')... Always seems like that area makes me pucker as I try to get out there and cross cracks and seams in the ice.... Not sure I'm gutzy enough to try it that early in the ice safe thickness...
What do you catch the whitefish with now? Same thing as trout, small castmasters or do you use a egg pattern fly? I know cisco eggs are tiny compared to egg flies so I guess that's a dumb question, but wondered if a small waxie or salmon egg would pick up a few whitefish??? Guess that's something to try but not waste too much time with... Thanks for the tips... J
