Deepest Ice?

I'm from Canada, so way up north we get a lot of ice. Some years more than four feet where we burry the auger right to the handle bars and cant get through. So we carry a 12 inch extension and that usually gets us through. So in between 4 and 5 feet. Never seen ice sheets below the ice.
