What is your favorite fishing movie??

I'm pretty lucky. In Japan there are two different series to be entertained with that focus on fishing. The first series was a TV program that had the hero be a young boy that was crazy about fishing and his angling adventures. This was animated and ran for 5 or 6 years. I believe the kid was nicknamed tsuripachi which means someone that fishes and hooks them.

The other is for the adult audience. It's called Tsuribaka Nikki or 'The Journal of a Fishing Nut'. This series has over 20, 90 minute full feature movies and is still going strong. I can rent them locally.

These movies are comedies BUT each movie highlights a famous fishing area and the popular species of fish in that area. They are serious about showing the viewer how, where and when to catch fish!!
