The Decline of the Obama Presidency
#36
You are misleading. The maximum out of pocket is $6580 for individual and $13,700 or so for families. So if you had a hip replacement the most you would pay out of pocket is the $6580. This is part of the affordability. Medical expences were the cause of over 60% of bankruptcies in the US. The max out of pocket is there to prevent this. I agree the system is not perfect, my wife and I pay $960 a month for our individual policies.we are healthy and make too much for subsidies . This is how people with pre-existing conditions and the poor get coverage. Sometimes we have to help each other out. It's not all about you. I still have a problem with insurance companies need to increase profits every year. It's a corporate culture of greed. I'm for a non profit system like Medicare for all. Raise my taxes 6 %, I would come out ahead. I pay 12% now for insurance and I get no tax deduction. I do not see any one running for office with a better plan.
