Once again, your tone is not recommended here for this forum. Personal slams and verbal attacks are not recommended here.
I feel sorry for your father and will add him to the list of people I pray for.
I do not hate Obama. You must truly love someone before you can experiment with the hate factor. Obama is a nice mane. The insurance reform just doesn't work for all. While obtaining the insurance is affordable, using it is what is now discouraging people in California.
I realize you are from another state. There is no way to compare apples to apples when California is one of the most expensive states in the nation as far as cost of living goes.
How many times have you been to California? Gasoline is @$3 a gallon for regular unleaded. A loaf of bread costs $4. A gallon of milk is @$4 also. The burritos that you are talking about will set you back from $5 to $12 depending on where you get it and if you want meat in it or not.
Obamacare is designed for people to have but not for them to use. My employees have Kaiser plans since Kaiser is an all in one stop shop for medical needs. Kaiser used to take care of all of ones needs in one visit which only resulted in one co-payment. Southern California Kaiser now saw the laws which require them to use at least 80% of the members dues towards actual healthcare of the person.
The tone of Kaisers care changed from taking care of everything in one visit to now requiring multiple visits (with multiple co-payments) just to take care of the same basic needs. Did you know that is how Kaiser operates in Southern California? I don't know if you were aware of that so I will not call you uneducated or uninformed in a derogatory manner as you have accused me of.
According to the new publication from the Healthcare.Gov website, the out of pocket expenses have gone up now to $6,850 per individual and $13,700 per family plan. See for yourself.

I do not state hearsay nor rumors. I only state the facts.
After reviewing the costs of everything. What would you consider as affordable for the average person that makes only $15 per hour while paying a mortgage on a house that is barely $450,000, with a wife and kids, a dog and with the need to feed all of them? This person has just enough money at the end of the month to barely pay the monthly premium.
Where does the money for the $13,700 come from to pay the full deductible for the year? Obviously this person will not be able to use the insurance but must have it in order to avoid the penalty that will be assessed for not having insurance.
There are still many flaws to this Affordable system. They are not affordable to all. That is my concern.
Other countries have socialistic medical coverage. The citizen pays nothing ever and the doctors are paid well from the government. If that could be combined with our type of freedoms in our great country, things would be better for all.
