[#0000FF]Whitefish prefer a bottom of cobble rocks over which to spawn. That type of bottom eats jigs...when they drop down between the rocks. Not so much a snag as just a hangup of the lure between rocks. It is a good idea to check your line and knots frequently if you are "rockin' it" alot. Those rocks are semi smooth but they can wear on your tackle.
The good thing about fishing from a tube or toon is that you can simply kick back directly over the "stationary steelhead" and wiggle and jiggle it loose. USUALLY. Some lock up tight. But I can honestly say that I didn't lose a single jig on Saturday. Didn't lose any married ones either.
