In the past I used Cajun Red Ice line and Berkley micro ice line. They were ok and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again as long as you watch for abrasion. A few years ago I was getting some jigs from TubeDude and he asked me if I had tried out Silver Thread Excalibur yet. I hadn't so I picked up a couple of spools in 4lb and 6lb test. That is pretty much all I use. For perch, crappie, gills I like the 4lb test and 6lb for anything bigger. I don't go after lakers or burbot with that size tackle. I strip off the top 50 or so yards each season and put new line on. If anything making sure you have good line is key. It isn't worth it to burn a lot of gas to get to a favorite ice fishing spot, bust out all your gear, punch holes, and then lose fish because you cheaped out on the line.
