BFT Dinner / Catfish Challenge Awards
#74
I've got most of the stuff TD has written up about riggin' and catchin' catfish and it has helped me to be a better catcher. He knows a thing or two about catfish, especially Utah Lake catfish, that he has never been reluctant to share with anybody willing to listen and learn.

A few years ago I read some of his posts about dragging a cat bait with one rod while chuckin' plastics with the other... hmmmm.... if it works in a tube it would surely work drifting with the wind or using a slow drag with an electric. Dragging baits is now my favorite way to catch cats.

TD also has a pretty good feel for where the bigger cats like to hang out and the preferred items on their menu. He has shared many of his honey holes and favorite baits with me.

A couple of years ago I was catching lots of cats but could not break out of the "cutter" sizes. TD suggested fishing more at night. I tried it and immediately started catchin' a few bigger fish.. including the biggest one I caught that year... a 13 pound 33 incher.

I pick up cat fishin' tips any time they are offered. I have learned a lot from BFT posters who are willing to share their know-how with others. I'm still learning.

I should know everything there is to know about catfishing by next year... so that 35 incher is as well as in the boat.[Wink]
