Paddle Bugs and Such

I like Maniac products. That being said I use the "paddle bugs" for ice fishing. I don't know why there is a difference but in my experience there is a difference. I like 1/16 oz most of the time. Don't go too heavy. The paddle bug works by swimming on the way down or while jigging. If your fishing for really big fish use a steelhead quality jig head as the ones that come with the paddle bugs are cheap and can break on bigger fish.
