I've used everything from tiny ice flies (1/64 oz or less) up to 1/4 oz bass jigs. All depends on the day, what you are fishing for, etc. A guy needs to be ready for everything. If mid size isn't working, then try larger and smaller.
That's one great thing about ice fishing. You can have 5 lines in the water all at once. Why limit yourself to one or two things? Some days everything works, others (it seems) nothing works.
