If you are still around, I loved fishing the straight in Galveston. That is the little area between Galveston University and the Mainland side. There are some nice Drum and Seatrout in that area. Perfect for a 5wt or 7wt and some Boomer line. Better than that is the 13'6" Spey Rod with Albino Wooly Buggers, Boomer line. I like to tie 10 wraps of .025 lead wire on the shank of the hook ot give some neutral bouyancy to the fly.
