Yeah, my brother tried that. Amazing how heavy sinking fly line is.[frown]

I am comfortable with the Scotty system. You put the rod holders in the Y and turn them 90 degree so they cannot come out. Then they have nice rubber straps over the rod and reel to keep them secure.
I put a leash on the T. SHOULD I spring a leak. I grab the lease and T and pull all the rods with me.
I don't cast with a tether on, it is a obstruction.
Hi, FG.

The float system has save me on at least 50 occasions in the last 5 years due to dropping, rolling over into water, etc. when you count the times of guest mishaps. Sometimes I wonder if anything would help with a serious leak. If the partially inflated boat is still floating (unlikely with a heavy battery/motor) how are the rods/equipment saved? Seems like equipment would float away or dangle below (tangling the swimmer) if the holders don't remain erect on deflation should one swim and push the partially inflated craft to shore. Maybe worse if you have to abandon craft, as towing equipment while swimming with waders would be difficult, assuming no one else comes to help in time...
I have thought maybe a marker float like they use for keys, would be the way to go......
