Down by Grand Junction there are lots of places:
Colorado River
Colorado River state park (three areas) in Clifton is corn lake
Also there is a section in fruita. The Colorado has bass, catfish and many other species.
West of fruita there is another state park with two lakes. Mack Mesa and highline. These have bass, trout, and crappie.
The grand Mesa is full of lakes with trout in them.
There are many other places. If you stop at the visitor center just off horizon dr in grand junction they have a brochure showing all the paces to fish in the grand valley.
