I've just recently been teaching myself how to flyfish, but most of the time I use plastics and spinners. I've fished a few of the streams around here and caught some small brookies, also been out to Bountiful Lake a few times and caught some planter rainbows and cats. Went to Farmington Pond this spring a few times and could catch as many planter rainbows as I wanted to.
I haven't tried the Weber or Ogden Rivers yet,, but they are looking like a 30-45 minute drive each way. If I have 3 hours to fish in a morning I hate to spend half of it in the car. Looking on the maps it looks like I could get to some areas of the Jordan in 15 or 20 minutes, I'm just not sure if there is any access or if there are any fish in those areas.
The other thing that makes me want to try the Jordan is that it looks like it has a big variety of fish and some BIG fish from some of the posts I've seen here and on other sites.
