[#0000FF]I don't know why I keep watching Gary Winterton's program "Hooked on Utah". Maybe it's because he sometimes covers waters with which I am not familiar. I record the programs and as soon as I see he is doing the same ol' same ol' stuff I hit the delete button. Sometimes I grind my teeth through a third to half of a program before I can't stand it anymore.
Last night's program had potential...Huntington North. Never fished it but it's on my radar as a multispecies pond...with wipers, largemouths, catfish, etc. So I watched...most of it.
He just about lost me when he brought in his first big chub...foul hooked in the tail...and referred to it as a "sucker". Then he called it a sucker two or three more times...and the local he was with did not correct him.
In between a few trout and a few wipers they caught several more "suckers" (chubs). I kept waiting for him to make the correction on air...but he didn't. Is he really so uneducated on Utah species that he can't tell the difference?
Oh yeah, on each of them he reared back on the rod and announced..."This is a good fish". At least he was consistent that way.
