Most tube manufacturers try to err on the side of caution when posting their weight limits. Usually you can top them a bit without worry. But the key is comfort and efficiency.
I am on the "sturdy" side myself. I have been fishing out of a Fat Cat (appropriate) for quite a few years. They are rated for 350 and will handle us gentlemen of wider girth with ease.
Noticed on your intro board that you just moved to Texas from San Diego. I lived in San Diego and in Orange County for a lot of years and now live in Utah. I too miss the ocean...and the big bass lakes. But there is plenty of that in Texas.
