Quake can be tough, the water warms up a bit in July, and with the work on Hebgen dam they have been running the water off of the top of the lake, anyway thats what I have been told the last two or three years. I think I heard they finish this year, but don't know for sure. If they have ,and start running the water out of the bottom, we should have some colder water during the summer on Quake ,and the Madison.
I fish mainly buggers, and leeches on Quake, but I did start fishing dries on there last year. I stay at Slide Inn's RV park just below Quake . I can be up there in ten minutes, so I try to fish it every other day. Biggest issue with Quake you need to watch out for the underwater tree stumps, you can donate a lot of flies using sinking line.
