Abso-freakin-lootely! I think that Strawberry ice off is about the most overrated fishing "event" in the entire State, even worse than the walleye "run" at Utah Lake.
What I've noticed there at ice off is that skilled fishermen catch fish, like they usually do and the unskilled struggle, just as they do the rest of the year. And regardless, the results for me never seem to equal the often smoking hot late icefishing trips I've had at the Berry, just a couple of weeks previously. (Except for this year and the stupid short ice season)
I do think ice off is special for fly anglers because they can again use fly gear on the Berry instead of a little stubby ice rod. ;-)
