The only time I was able to get up there was about 4 years ago. I went up just hoping to find some open water. I got lucky and Chicken Creek had opened up that night. It was only 200 yards out and a half mile long. Myself and 1 other tuber spent the day wrestling fish. I don't know how many I cought but I remember that I was sore in both arms the next day. It was 60 degrees and no wind. The fishing gods
d upon me that day. I remember they were hitting so hard it would almost yank the pole out if you weren't paying attention. It is the top of my favorites list. I have not made it for "ice off" since.
Now I can count on 1 hand (assuming I am wearing mittens ) how many fish I cought while ice fishing the Berry and you would have to count all my appendages (assuming I am naked) on the number of times I have been up there on the ice.
