Person Missing at Willard Bay
Even though it was becoming expected that this would end in a recovery rather than a rescue, I offer my condolences to his family. As tragic as this whole episode has been, I see from the posts here on BFT, that there will be some positive come from it all. I have seen member after member make the statement that they have had a serious re-think about their own safety on the water, and the safety of others in their boats and other boats on the water. I have done the same. I was always a good swimmer, grew up on the beaches of California. I keep PDF's on my boat, but maybe because the law requires it and not for the best reason.....it's the smart thing to do. And the even smarter thing is to actually USE them. So, again like several I have read here, I ordered and auto/man inflating PDF from Cabala's last night. Due to be delivered on the 2nd April. I WILL wear it, and from now on, all passengers in my boat will wear the PDF provided. Just like my vehicle, you "click it" or we don't move.

Mr. Matthew Rasmussen, we are wishing you God Speed, and comfort for your family. You never intended it this way, but you have taught us all a very valuable lesson.
