Cabelas 3500 Auto PFD, USCG-approved Type II PFD -- On sale at $119.00 -- got three of 'em on the way.
My life jackets are, more often than not, scattered on the floor of my boat or, worse still, stored away in a compartment. I'm a believer in seat belts and now I'm a believer in PFDs. I'm still okay with my teen-age crew going without PFDs if we are in a foot or two of water and shooting carp but from now on when we are on the go and in deeper water... all will have PFD's on, including the old man.
I fish often at night and alone for cats when most normal people are at home making the big ZZZZ. I will never be out alone again without a PFD....on me!
I, like most of us, have always assumed that accidents like this one at Willard always happen to the other guy. This situation and the comments posted here have registered with me.
Thanks for all the good and insightful posts and I hope they resolve this search soon.
Always think safety!
